Whose hungry?

As you can probably tell if there is food, drink and celebration going on in Newport, there is a pretty good chance you will find the Coyers there. What can I say, we like to celebrate things. Well today was no exception, Newport held their annual Taste of Rhode Island festival and not even a ginormous rainstorm could keep us away. I have to admit we were a smidge disappointed. We have been looking forward to this for weeks and we just felt that the food offerings could have been better. Oh well you can't win'em all. Unfortunately we also committed a few 'Taste of" no-nos...

Mistake #1 - We were way too ambitious. We hadn't eaten all day and we were starved. When we got there we had to buy tokens to pay all the exhibitors. $1 = 1 token and the dishes were all between 1 and 10 tokens depending on what you were trying. Well we bought 40 and proceeded to make....

Mistake #2 - We ate entirely too much at our first exhibitor. We turned around, tokens in hand and saw a place that was making cheeseburgers, fries and shakes. We like cheeseburgers, fries and shakes we thought and hurried over. 10 tokens later and a bunch of food we sat down and ate. 15 minutes later we were full and in a panic due to the 30 non-refundable tokens we had in our pockets which leads us to...

Mistake #3 - Sacrificing our waistlines in order to not waste money. We then ran around and tried everything that we thought we could fit. In the end, stuffed to the brim, we had 12 token left and a lot of half eaten food.

So let this be a lesson to all...when attending such events, it is very important to share and pace yourselves!!!

All and all we had a fun time. The food probably could have been a bit better but what can you do.

Yum!
