Full Term!!!

Ding! This baby is cooked!

It is such a relief to know that if this sweet little critter were to come today, he is ready for the world. Though my due date is still 3 weeks away we are beginning to get so excited! We can't believe we will soon have a sweet little son!

Todd is carrying his cell phone with him everywhere and is on high alert and pretty much everyone (Todd, friends, coworkers) have made me promise to stay within a 15 mile radius of the hospital, they even begin to get a little antsy if I disappear for any length of time longer than 20 minutes. Though I've promised not to give birth alone in a corner somewhere they are all extremely concerned of my whereabouts when I resurface. Too cute. :)

3 weeks to go!

Say What?!?!

I guess Coyer baby watch 2010 is starting!

Went to the doctor for my usual boring blood pressure/weigh in appt and he alerted us that we have made progress already! 2cm and 80% effaced at 36 weeks! Said it could be today or 5 weeks from now but we should get ready for sooner than later...umm what?!?!

This was not news Todd took lightly. When I got home later on that evening from work he had the entire nursery cleaned, assembled, organized, monitors set up and tested and completely ready for baby. He even packed the diaper bag. I could not be in love with him more.

So now we wait. We are officially full term in 2 days but our little guy is more than welcome to stay in there a few weeks longer ;) I guess we'll see!

Hail to the Commissary....

And their need to inappropriately stock Halloween candy way too early ::please refer to date of post::.

Today this pregnant chicks all time candy craving dream was plucked out of my fantasy world and brought to reality when I walked into our friendly commissary and saw bags upon bags of my favorite sugary treat, candy corn, staring right back at me. Seriously they might as well have been sparkling.

I won't bore you with the gory details that ensued but shortly thereafter I may or may not have been seen driving off base, cackling madly while feverishly stuffing fists full of these delicious treats in my mouth.

Pathetic? maybe. Worth it? Totally.

Yum.

Whoa 36 Weeks!

It's getting a little cramped in there and he's still not letting his mama sleep but thats ok! Baby C is head down and getting ready to make his appearance. Though it seems at times he's ready to bust out of this joint (we think he's figured out theres more to life than this) he still needs to hang in there for about 4 more weeks to plump up those little cheeks that we can't wait to start kissing! He's a stinker!

EEEEKKS!

Goodbye sleep! I'll miss you!

Some of the top advice I hear everyday once someone (friend or otherwise) sees that I'm pregnant is "better get your sleep now!" or "Enjoy your sleep while you can!". I always smile sweetly and say that I'm trying and go on my merry way. Now-a-days what I really want to do is turn around, put my hand on my hip and say 'Now how do you propose I do that?!?!"

The fact of the matter is this:

* It is hotter than Hades outside making sleep uncomfortable for even the non-pregnant folks

* I have a 5lb bowling ball in my stomach that gets extremely annoyed if I impede on his space at anytime during the night. So laying on right side, left side, back all equal angry baby.

* Laying on my right or left side for long periods of time also equals angry hip bones...who knew?

* When the elusive comfortable position is found, one of two things happen, more often than not at the same time....

1. Heartburn and/or

2. I have to go to the bathroom...again.

This process repeats itself many times during the night. Its a circus. I have pillows everywhere but even the coolest pillow forts aren't helping. Whats worse is Todd isn't even here, he's off sleeping comfortably in North Carolina, I have complete rein over our bed and that doesn't even help. Gah.

Maybe this is how your body prepares you for the exhaustion you will face when the baby comes or maybe this is a cruel part of preganancy, or maybe, just maybe its just 2am and due to the list above, I'm awake and therefore cranky. ::yawns and reaches for more tums::

Sigh.

Surprise!!

About a month ago my dear dear friend Amy invited me over to have brunch in her new home with some of her girlfriends, little did I know that she was planning a surprise baby shower! She's awesome and I am so lucky to have her in my life!

I wish I had a group picture, here are just a few of my friends waiting outside. When I pulled up all my dear friends and coworkers were outside waving and screaming 'surprise!'

Surprise! Here I am wondering what the heck is going on!

My doughnut cravings did not go unnoticed by Amy. This whole cake was a big doughnut. It was SOOO good!

Still in shock with my friend Kim. We had an amazing brunch and then opened up presents.

Apparently the last couple weeks I had become quite annoying to my friends as I kept going to Babies R Us and buying things off our registry. OOPS! Here I am explaining that I had no clue they had planned a shower!

Baby's first piggy bank!

An adorable boat hat and booties, very 'New England'.

Every baby needs a glow worm!

I'm not sure Todd is going to be too thrilled about this. Our little guy can be a Red Sox fan...that is when they are not playing the Mariners ;)

Ok, the name of this breast feeding pillow never ceases to make me giggle. Yes, I'm mature like that ;) I hear it is supposed to be awesome and a huge help!

These pictures do not even scratch the surface of how spoiled our little family is. Our little guy has so many things that will keep him happy and entertained. We never would have dreamed that he would have so many wonderful things and so many aunts that are just waiting to love him. Thank you thank you thank you!

Greetings from California! This weekend I went home because my amazing family and friends threw us a baby shower! The shower was hosted by my Aunt Sondra, my Aunt Eileen and a good family friend Carol and they left no detail overlooked, it was absolutely beautiful. We are so excited and lucky to have so many wonderful people in our lives that are as excited for the arrival of our little one as we are. He's a lucky little boy!
