Happy Thanksgiving!

As my dad reminded me recently, the saying 'life is what happens while you are busy making other plans" could not be more true this thanksgiving. I had big plans. Lots of baking and cooking, hosting a Thanksgiving breakfast brunch for our friends, spending time with my family, black friday shopping, putting up christmas decorations...we were going to be busy...and then life happened. The week of Thanksgiving, while out on one of his daily 6 mile runs (we can discuss how nutty that is later), Todd felt the slightest pull on his back.  What was initially just an annoyance turned into a pretty serious muscle strain that literally left him crippled, on the floor and sedated. He literally couldn't move and therefore neither could our plans. Poor guy. We made the best of it though, instead of brunch with friends we just had a big family breakfast and thanks to some last minute shopping enjoyed a small Thanksgiving at home just the three of us. In the end, I still went black Friday shopping and even got a wreath up or two ;).

We are famous!

The things I will make my family do for free stuff. About a year ago we agreed to sign a stock photo waiver in exchange for free christmas cards. Now we are in a Navy Fed ad!

Happy Halloween!

Matt is finally old enough to actually want to trick or treat and it was just the cutest thing. He thought knocking on doors and receiving candy was the bomb diggity and was on a mission to collect as much candy as possible. As a pregnant person, who would love to be hooked up to an IV of sugar, I was more than pleased with his excitement to trick or treat with gusto.  The only issue we need to work on is the fact that after you give Matt candy, he wants to come into your home and explore.

Harvest Festival

I love love love Halloween and when I found out that our HOA put on a Harvest Festival, I made sure that we were there. Matt wore his little fireman costume and even won a $10 giftcard for being so cute! Love him! Matt ate lots of hot dogs, snow cones and cotton candy and had a blast running around with the other kids. Such a cutie!

Sometimes its a big world out there to a little fireman..
