Since the zoo was such a hit and it was hotter than Hades in Temecula we decided to head back down to beautiful (and a cool 75 degrees) San Diego to check out the Birch Aquarium. It was wasn't a huge aquarium and since fish don't make much noise Matt wasn't sure what to make of it but we had a great time anyway.

First trip to the Zoo!
I'm not going to lie, Todd and I have never been huge fans of the zoo. As far as we are concerned the San Diego Zoo is full of pretty much only monkeys. I don't know if we've just been lazy and only have seen the monkeys before calling it a day (completely possible) or misread the zoo map and kept making circles around the monkey area (also possible) but that's all we've ever seen.
Now that we have Matt and he terrorizes our cat on a daily basis we thought he'd just LOVE the zoo. We were right, he didn't much care for the monkeys (yep he's ours) but LOVED the Flamingos. They were fighting and making lots of noise and by golly that was the funniest thing that kid has ever seen. ADORABLE.

We're here!
monkeys!
ooo whats over there.
We now have a new love for the zoo. To see our baby giggle and smile there was priceless and totally worth getting lost in the monkey area again :).

Rock N' Roll Marathon
If I had an ounce of athletic dedication that my sweet Todd has, I would be in some seriously awesome shape...but I don't so I'm not going to harp on it ;). What I will do is go and watch my cute husband run in marathons. Today the Toddster continued to make running 26.2 miles look like a walk in the park completing the entire race in 3 hours and 47 minutes (whaaa???). He didn't even look sweaty. Then he came home and had some beers and bbq'd with my family. He's got to be some sort of super person.
Good morning San Diego!
