Peas!
Since the Matt-man has been loving himself some rice cereal we decided that it was time to introduce him to some other foods. First up? Peas! Of course he had no idea that the menu had changed.
Yay for chow time!
Ack...what is this?!?!
Then he just pretty much rubbed the peas all over his face. Though it was a rocky first go, he loves them now!

Happy 6 Months!!
How is our little man 6 months old already? Time is going way too fast and if I could keep him like this forever, I probably would. In the last few weeks he has grown so much and we think he is just about tipping the scales at 20lbs! whoa.
In the last month our little guy has:
* Started sitting
* Started eating solids...yummy peas!
* Babbles like his mama
* Mastered rolling over. So much so that we can't keep him on his back...ever.
* Tries to put just about everything in his mouth
* Grabs at everything (oh dear)
* Sleeps through the night....(sometimes ;) )
* Giggles at everything
* Has discovered our kitty (Thunder is less than thrilled)
We love watching him grow into such a sweet boy. I don't think it could be possible to love someone more.
Happy 6 months sweet baby! We love you!

A bumpy ride to California
Since driving cross country with a 3 month old and a cat didn't sound like a fun thing to do we decided that Matty and myself would fly back to California early and Todd would finish up the move and meet us out there. Easy right?
The plan was simple, fly home the day after Christmas, spend time with the family and wait patiently to move into the new house. We even upgraded my seat to first class to make sure that Matty and I had plenty of room to spread out on the 6 hour flight home, it was going to be perfect. What we didn't consider is that the Coyers + New England + flying do not mesh well... please refer to Christmas 2008. True to form, we woke up on the 26th to a blizzard. Thankfully United just cancelled our flight and put us on the next available flight on the 28th...this time however at 6am...in Boston. Although not an ideal time to fly with a munchkin we were still in first class (yay!) so we figured it would be fine.
Flash forward to 2am and crying (Matty's) on the way the airport. Once there and through security there were more tears (Shan's) when we learned we had been bumped from first class due to overbooking. The frazzlement continued when we reached our new *window* seat in coach and our neighbors fell right to sleep locking us in. I was miserable but hoped for the best and was lucky...for the first 3 hours. Then all hell broke loose. Matty had a fit, then a blowout. Then I had to wake up my neighbors to take care of said blowout. Then there was no changing table in the bathroom. Then Matty needed an entire outfit change. Then my cell phone went missing (later found many rows back), more tears (Matty's), it was a nightmare.
In the end we landed safely in California and the sweet gentlemen next to me, who I'm sure had the worst flight of his life, kindly told me Matty was cute. After more adventures at LAX we finally found my parents, had a few more tears (Shan's again) and both crashed as soon as we saw my parents couch.
Rough.
